On July 1, 2024, in the capital city of Vanuatu, Port Vila, a milestone moment arrived - the handover ceremony of the Vanuatu Presidential Palace, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs office building project, which was built with Chinese assistance, was officially held. This not only marks another important achievement of China's aid to Vanuatu, but also further consolidates the profound friendship between China and Vanuatu.

The project is located in the core area of Port Vila, with a total construction area of approximately 6849 square meters. It covers office buildings, official residences, conference rooms, training classrooms, and a range of outdoor ancillary facilities. As another masterpiece after several Chinese aid projects such as the Prime Minister's Office, Parliament Building, Conference Center, National Stadium, and Malapo School expansion, this project is currently the largest complete set of construction projects supported by the Chinese government to Vanuatu.

Since the foundation laying ceremony was held on February 4, 2022, the project has gone through storms and officially started construction on March 15 of the same year. Through the hard work and unremitting efforts of the Chinese construction team, this modern architectural complex has now stood tall on this land and become a beautiful scenery in the capital of Vanuatu.

Vanuatu's President Vorobaravu, officials from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Hu Chunhua, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Vanuatu, and representatives from Happy City jointly attended the handover ceremony and witnessed this historic moment.

The successful holding of this handover ceremony not only showcases the technical strength and national image of China's foreign aid projects, but also provides strong support for the Vanuatu government to improve the office environment and enhance administrative efficiency. At the same time, it has further deepened the friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples and laid a solid foundation for the future development of bilateral relations.
